The Shepherds Arms at Ennerdale Bridge started
life as a coaching inn in 1704 and no doubt was a popular haunt for local shepherds and herdsmen.
Nowadays, it is more often
than not likely to echo to the feet of hikers on the Coast to Coast 190-mile walk as well as business people visiting
the area. If walkers are heading eastwards, they will skirt the peaceful Ennerdale
Water, a stone's throw from this cream painted hostelry, which is flanked by some of the majestic Western fells of the
Lake District.

... Situated on the world famous Coast to Coast walk the Shepherds
Arms Hotel is a gem of a country house hotel and inn offering ensuite accommodation, home cooked produce and real ales. ~~~~~~~
The Shepherds Arms Bar is open to the public and is included in The AA's Best Pub Guide and other
guides. Specialities are real ales and home cooked locally sourced produce. An extensive full bar menu
is available with homemade, vegetarian and daily special dishes being available.
